Maryland Sings was founded in 1990, and incorporated in 1991. As a result of hard work and careful planning by the Director and his Executive Director, the organization has grown from five members in 1990 to thirty-two members in three ensembles. During the past 5 years, the organization’s visibility has grown and requests for performances have increased dramatically.
Maryland Sings, Inc. earned an international reputation in 1992 and 1994 due to the success of two European tours. The Senior Ensemble has traveled across Maryland with their acclaimed 100 Years of Broadway musical to raise money to help the State Board of Education purchase over 50,000 books for less fortunate children throughout Maryland.
