The Northwest Chamber of Commerce wishes you and your family a happy Independence Day Holiday. We have upcoming cookouts, parades and firework displays to enjoy. It is a time for fun and remembrance. But it is also a time to relax and rejuvenate.
The history of Independence Day is interesting. John Adams believed that July 2nd was the correct date on which to celebrate the birth of American independence and would turn down invitations to appear at July 4th events in protest. Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, 1826—the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

Mark your calendars to visit the Main Street lawn of Franklin Middle School each Sunday throughout the summer between 9am and 1pm. For most of its history, Reisterstown’s biggest industry was farming. Many great farms still grace our countryside and our Farmers Market brings their very best to Main Street.
The 1st Sunday of each month there will also be a Flea Market aspect to the event. Throughout the summer our market has hosted varied activities such as cooking classes, children’s activities, yoga demonstrations, and tips for healthy eating on a budget.
