Our 1st Ever VIRTUAL Annual Breakfast Was a Big Success!

Last Tuesday, January 26th, the Northwest Chamber welcomed our 2021 Board of Directors, heard from our County Executive Johnny “O” concerning his insights about the the 2021 county business forecast and we heard how creative we were during 2020- we didn’t let COVID stop us!

In addition, Emily Winters announced 3 NEW EVENTS for the new year.
These include:

Owings Mills Farmers Market @ Hilton Garden Inn-Owings Mills,
Our 1st Annual Golf Outing
and
Our Very Own Restaurant Week for Our Restaurant Members

Then, David S Brown of DSB Leadership Group sent us off into this new year with a mindset for success.

BALTIMORE COUNTY SENIORS RECEIVE HELP TO AGE SAFELY IN PLACE

Last week, the Baltimore County Department of Aging announced the Baltimore County Age-Friendly Upgrades for Seniors (BCAUSE) program, which offers Baltimore County homeowners over the age of 65 the opportunity to receive home repairs or safety modifications to help enable them to stay in their homes in order to age safely in place.

Older adults interested in participating in the BCAUSE program should call the Baltimore County Maryland Access Point (MAP) at 410-887-2594, Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. A certified Information and Referral Specialist will complete an application over the phone to determine eligibility.

Youth Sports Allowed to Resume with COVID-19 Safety Protocols

TOWSON, MD — Baltimore County Executive
Johnny Olszewski
(EDITED ) An Executive Order stating that amateur sports events, including high school, youth, and/or recreational games, clinics, skills sessions, scrimmages and practices, may restart effective Monday, February 1, 2021 has been activated.

Outdoor Sports
Attendance at organized amateur sports events held outdoors is limited to:
-Players;
-Referees and/or officials;
-Trainers, coaches and staff; and
-One parent or guardian per participant.
-No additional spectators are allowed.
Face coverings are required at all times for:
-Players not in the field of play;
-Referees and/or officials;
-Trainers, coaches and staff; and
-A parent or guardian in attendance

Attendance at organized amateur sports events held at any indoor facility is limited to 50 percent of that facility’s Maximum Occupancy, with no more than 50 people permitted per activity area.
Indoor facilities include, but are not limited to, organized sports events at schools, religious facilities, recreational establishments, fitness centers, and gyms.

Out of State Sporting Events and Tournaments Remain Prohibited
Organized amateur sports events with teams from outside the State of Maryland remain prohibited. Tournaments are also prohibited until further notice.
County Department of Recreation and Parks’ Spring Sports Season to Begin on Schedule
Consistent with typical sports seasons, Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks’ Spring Sports Season will begin on March 1, 2021.
Consistent with typical seasons, County athletic fields will be available for use beginning March 1, 2021, and ball diamonds will be available for use beginning April 1, 2021.
