The Chamber Updates
A Message from Emily
As we dive into Spring, there is so much to look forward to. The Chamber is buzzing with upcoming events, welcoming new businesses and reconnecting with longtime members.
We hope the nicer weather encourages you to come out to our Trivia Night on 3/15, our Mixer at the new Marriott on 3/24 or to drop in for a delicious lunch at Reter’s on Friday 3/25. For those in the Reisterstown area, we’ll be at Little Georgia on 3/10 for a ribbon cutting and mingling. For those looking to network on a larger scale, we are still selling tickets to 2022’s first MEGA event at the Sheraton Towson on 3/16. All events can be found on our website!
Our Farmer’s Market is officially less than 90 days away! We appreciate all the shares and support from our members and community neighbors, THANK YOU! If you or anyone you know may be interested in joining us as a vendor or sponsor, please email myself or Kathleen.
We are certainly feeling the energy that comes with the Spring months and
hope to see you all out and about throughout March.
Have a great week ahead
– Emily Winters, Executive Director

MEMBER NEWS & OFFERS
A Message From Our Past President- Sally Shapiro-Gould
Each year, the CCFA (Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation) holds an event called the take steps challenge. In 2019 I was honored to walk with Chamber members, on a beautiful day in Canton, to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. This year the event will be held on June 5th, my birthday!
I hope you will join my team to celebrate, not only my birthday, but the enormous impact that the CCFA has had in making the lives of patients better, information more accessible, and hope for a cure more possible each day. Our team Captain is none other than my son, Marc Shapiro. Our team name is The Red Hot Chili Poopers. Who can resist joining a team with that name! I look forward to walking with you!

County Executive Olszewski announced plans to introduce the Abatement of Public Nuisances Act, a proposal to amend and update Baltimore County’s longstanding “padlock law,” to authorize the Chief of Police to take action against properties with repeated public nuisance violations.
TRAFFIC CALMING: In partnership with the Chartley Homeowners Association and Baltimore County, our office was able to get three speed bumps installed on Glyndon Drive in Reisterstown to slow down traffic in this residential community.
The road qualified for this measure due to speed and volume. My thanks to Chartley president Joe Kirby, vice president Larry VanHorn and all the residents for their local efforts.
Speeding is unfortunately everywhere, and people want traffic calming in their neighborhoods. Our office remains committed to working with every community and neighborhood in the 2nd District to push back on this issue. There may be some new flexibility additional projects. You can apply for traffic calming by visiting this link:
