Network with 20-25 local business professionals. Attendance is FREE for members and 1st time guests and Lite fare will be provided. You are on your own for your drinks.

Duplicate Book Sale

The Maryland Horse Library & Education Center will offer for the first time a duplicate book sale to be held during Preakness week on Wednesday, May 17 and Thursday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Reisterstown, Md. A large collection of classics, many out-of-print, as well as newer offerings will be available for purchase.The MHLEC is also pleased to announce local authors John Eisenberg, Jack Gilden, Josh Pons and Alvin Stone will be on hand at select times to sign their books, with new copies available for sale.

Join us at the Maryland Horse Library & Education Center on Thursday, May 18 for an author talk with award-winning journalist and photographer Patricia McQueen! She will be there to discuss her book Secretariat’s Legacy. Copies of the chronicle of the 1973 Triple Crown champion will be available for purchase and signed by the author.

The inauguration of a new home and fashion event “Revive” takes place on June 8, 2023, and features an integration of award-winning couture designers and tailors with up-and-coming next generation designers.

Featured designers include Ella Pritsker, Christopher Schafer, Nicole Myrick, Stacy Stube, Yelé, Jacob Heath, and individuals from The Cavanagh House, the Baltimore Design School fashion program, Maryland Center Fashion Design, and NDP Fashion Club.

We are also excited to announce special guest Marianne Banister as emcee. Accenting the runway will be signature reupholstered pieces done by students of The Cavanagh House upholstery program.

Hosted by The Cavanagh House, this event is meant to create awareness surrounding the dwindling upholstery and fashion industries in Baltimore and the opportunities that The Cavanagh House trade programs have to offer.
