Our Member Student Support Network Brings Help to Owings Mills Elementary

The Student Support Network at Owings Mills Elementary School is off to a fantastic start. The Network provided pencil cases for all of the children in the school, and notebooks for the entire 4th Grade. The Jewish Volunteer Connection donated 75 backpacks filled with school supplies to OME, and they also just donated 60 minestrone soup kits to the Network for distribution to our schools

Susan Katz, Nora Linstrom, and Vicki Almond, the Network Lead Volunteers, have already made numerous connections with businesses and local community groups that are now involved with supporting Owings Mills Elementary.

The Glyndon Community Association is hosting an adult only (21 and up) costume Halloween Party Saturday October 19th at the Emory Grove Hotel in Glyndon!! Festivities will begin at 8:30pm after the families and little ones finish their annual Halloween Spooktacular. DJ/ beer and wine and hot and cold hors d’oevres will be included. As Baltimore County Looks to Expand Transit Access, Survey Will Gather Resident Input and Ideas

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski released a transportation survey that will allow County residents to share information about the transportation challenges they face, and solicit input and ideas about how those challenges can be addressed.

The survey is a step in a larger effort to increase transit options for County residents and identify other opportunities to help people get around more easily and efficiently.

Day Road Closure – Bond Avenue

Several residents have recently reached out to my office to share their concerns about the road closure during the day on Bond Avenue in Reisterstown — adjacent to Central Avenue and Owings Mills Boulevard.

I just wanted to share the update I received after reaching out to the Department of Public Works to get clarification on when residents should expect the road to fully reopen. The road is expected to be closed intermittently for another two to three weeks as new infrastructure is being installed to connect to the existing utilities. Currently, the roads are being reopened every day late in the afternoon/early evening, and provisions have been made to accommodate emergency vehicles
